It’s been a while since my last skincare post, so today I want to tell you a bit about 2 products from Payot France which I’ve been loving recently! You know that Payot is a skin care brand which I personally love and I’m always on the hunt for the next fantastic product to share with you lovers of skincare.

Today I shall be talking to you about Payot Crème N˚2 Range, which has been designed specifically for sensitive and reactive skin. Each product makes use of natural active ingredients proven to help soothe redness and irritation. These products came at the best time as I’ve been doing a peeling treatment to lighten my acne scars and I wanted something natural as not to irritate my freshly peeled skin.

Payot Crème N˚2 Eau Lactee Micellaire
This cleanser is a milk-lotion type of cleanser which you apply on a cotton pad (the pump is fantastic as you don’t waste any product) and apply to your face to remove makeup and cleanse the skin. It is quite delicate and gentle, which is a factor that I love. The creamy texture also leaves a refreshing feeling on your skin and it soothes any redness or sensitivity. Another aspect I love is the fact that it is fragrance-free, which is makes it the best product for sensitive skin (especially after my peeling sessions!)

Although I love this product, I will still continue to use an oil to remove my make up first as I hate using a lot of cotton pads, however, this is a fantastic product to go in for a double cleanse and remove any makeup residue (as we all know that no matter how hard you try and remove all your makeup in one go, you still need to go in with another product to get rid of it). This product is the perfect cleanser as the final cleanser in your double cleansing routine.

Payot Crème N˚2 L’Essentielle Soothing and Comforting Balm

This product is a soothing moisturizer in the form of a melt in balm. Upon application it truly melts into your skin and you feel as if you don’t have anything on your face. However, for me it felt as a hydrating and soothing layer of goodness on your skin. This product acts as a true natural shield and instantly soothes redness and the feeling of discomfort. It also rebalances the skin flora to strengthen the skin’s defenses. It's the perfect everyday moisturizer!

Both these products are made from the most skin-friendly ingredients to ensure maximum compatibility with the skin, so if you have sensitive skin these products are definitely the ones for you!

Hope you enjoyed today’s read! Please do check out Payot France Skincare as from what I’ve tried so far, they’re some of my favourite products to date!

Review: Introducing Payot Blue Techni Liss (Jour & Nuit)*

One of life’s purest joys has to be testing out new skincare products. As much as I like makeup, skincare products have always been my personal favourite – be it masks, serums etc. Payot is a brand that you’ve seen me talk about numerous times - and it’s not without reason. As a brand, Payot’s vision from the start was to help women maintain their skin’s natural beauty. This is where their new line comes in – Payot Blue Techni Liss.

Payot Blue Techni Liss is a range that fights the effects of desynchronised skin biorhythms – in simpler words, with the hectic lifestyles we lead, our body feels less and less the difference between day and night, thus, our biological clocks become irregular, resulting in premature wrinkles, dehydrated skin and dull complexion. Apart from fighting against this, Payot Blue Techni Liss also mitigates the impact of blue light (from screens) on our skin.

For the past 3 weeks, I’ve been testing out Payot Blue Techni Liss Nuit and also a sample size of Payot Blue Techni Liss Jour. Containing encapsulated chaste tree berry, horehound extract and hyaluronic acids, both these products are ideal for all skin types and all ages.

Let’s start with the Payot Blue Techni Liss Jour – perfect day cream to wear on its own or underneath makeup. Apart from the earlier mentioned star ingredients, this day cream also contains lindera aggregata extract and hibiscus oligopeptide which inhibits the muscles responsible for the appearance of expression lines. I apply this after I wash my face in the morning, massaging it in. It doesn’t leave any white cast on the face so you can either just wear it on its own or you can even apply makeup on it as it won’t make your face shiny. This day cream will give you smooth, radiant skin whilst giving you protection against the effects of the latest pollutant – blue light from our screens.

As a night cream, we have Payot Blue Techni Liss Nuit – my favourite one of the duo! Apart from the earlier mentioned star ingredients, this night cream also contains nocturnal micro-algae and hibiscus AHA. As you might know, our skin regenerates during the night, and with such a product we are boosting this regeneration to reach its full potential. Its melt-in gel texture is so satisfying that it makes me want to apply it all the time. Upon seeing it in the jar, it has a deep blue tint, however, the blue gel transforms into a beautiful transparent oil upon contact with the skin. After a thorough cleanse, I apply a small amount of this to my face and go to sleep – it has a comfortable finish; it doesn’t make your face sticky or oily and won’t leave any residue on your pillow case. In the morning, my skin looks so plump, smooth and radiant – like new! It also smells amazing which is a bonus!

Have you ever heard of such technology in skincare products? I know I haven’t!

Review: Recent Discoveries from Payot Skin Care*

Review: Recent Discoveries from Payot Skin Care*

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I just love skin care! As much as I love make up, skin care takes priority; not only because I find that for make up to go on smoothly, you must have a good base but also because I just love having some time for myself to relax and take care of my skin.

One of the brands that I’ve been loving is Payot. As you know, I’ve had the opportunity to try out Payot Skin Care on multiple occasions courtesy of Franks, and since I’ve discovered this brand, I’ve been using their products religiously.  From previous skin care related posts, you might know that my skin type is combination, acne-prone and dehydrated thus making taking care of my skin the more important. My skin is also slightly sensitive so I’m always taking extra precaution when choosing which products to put on my face.

The first product I’ve been loving is the Payot Crème Purifiante. It’s a non-greasy purifying, anti-imperfections face cream that is said to visibly reduce imperfections and unclogs pores. Ingredients wise, this products is full of good stuff for your skin, especially if your skin type is similar to mine. It contains zinc extract to normalise sebum level (how much oil your skin produces) and purify the epidermis and it is also loaded with 7% AHA Ester – for those who do not know what AHA is, it’s an acid which helps exfoliate the skin to help clear blemishes, hydrates the skin and helps with damaged and aging skin. This product is also infused with rosehip oil which helps regenerate skin tissue, boost cell growth and reduce any scarring you may have. Personally, I like using this product in the evening since the acid in it makes your skin more sensitive to the sun. I still apply sunscreen everyday so I don’t find issue with it. As soon as I apply it, I notice that my face looks smoother and clearer and quite matte which is a bonus! I’ve been using this face cream for quite a while now and I can definitely vouch that my skin has improved.

I’ve also been loving another product from Payot, this time it’s a sleeping mask. My Payot Sleeping Pack is an anti-fatigue, radiance reviving overnight mask which makes your skin brighter and plumper. I love putting a thin layer of this mask on nights prior to events or on Sundays, so I can start the week with fresher, brighter and plumper looking skin. It has a gel-like texture and an amazing scent, probably because of the energising super fruits it contains. Apart from the super fruits, this mask also contains hyaluronic acid and silk tree extract; all these products combined help erase visible signs of fatigue and gives a radiance boost to your skin. As skin fanatics know, your skin is most receptive to the benefits of skin care while you sleep so you reap more benefits from such a mask. The ideal for those who want to take care of their skin without bothering having to wait a period of time to wash it off!

Keeping our skin hydrated with Payot Hydra24 Corps*

Keeping our skin hydrated with Payot Hydra24 Corps*

Happy Sunday my loves! Today, I’m reviewing another Payot product – this time, it’s the Hydra 24 Corps. Personally, I feel that Payot as a brand is quite an underrated one and that’s why I like to shine the spotlight on products which there aren’t many reviews on them, especially from bloggers from our tiny island. So let’s move on to the review!

The Payot Hydra24 Corps is described as a “Hydrating, firming treatment for a youthful body with Hydro-Regulator complex”. The first thing that I love about this body lotion is the bottle it comes in. Unlike other body lotions, this one comes with a pump which makes it all the more easy to apply; I just leave it on my bedroom vanity or take it in with me in the bathroom and apply it as soon as I get out of the shower. I should also mention that it comes in a huge bottle at 400ml of products which would last quite a while.

The texture of this lotion is also something I really like about this product; it’s rich and moisturizing but it doesn’t leave you with an oily residue or a sticky mess. It’s also super hydrating for those of you who have dry skin like me. It contains something called a Hydro-Regulator complex which continuously releases hydration so that the skin maintains its natural moisture levels. The scent of this body lotion is also very subtle, like a vanilla-baby powder type of scent if you get what I mean.  So if you want hydrated, moisturized and glowing from within skin – then this body lotion is the one for you!

Self-Tanning with the Payot Elixir Range | Review & Demo*

Self-Tanning with the Payot Elixir Range | Review & Demo*

We’re in the middle of the summer season, and who doesn’t like getting that luminous summer tan? Well, if we’re talking about sunbathing in the scorching sun to get a tan, then I’ll be the first one to admit that I don’t like sunbathing. The main reasons being that I like my pale skin and secondly, the effects of sun exposure on the skin are something that I’m really afraid of – remember that the effects will not show now or tomorrow but in the long run.

However, nowadays, the beauty industry has come up with a way for us to tan safely – sunless tanner! So in collaboration with Franks – The Art of Living Beautiful, today I’ll be sharing with you how I self-tan when I have that special event where I want to look all nice and sun kissed.

Let’s get into it!

So after I hop in the shower and wash myself with some shower gel using a pair of mild exfoliating gloves and rinse myself, it’s time to exfoliate using a deep scrub. Today I’m using the Payot Elixir Gold Scrub. Like the tub it comes in, the scrub itself is gold (how cool is that?!). This is because it is rich in golden sugar cane grains mixed with jojoba oil. I take a good amount of the scrub and rub in circular motions all over my skin. Although it is quite a deep scrub, it’s still nourishing and creamy leaving your skin feel as soft as silk. And the scent, don’t get me started! It smells divine – it contains notes of myrrh and amyris so it’s quite wood-scented yet florally if you get what I mean. It comes in a pot of 200ml and despite it is slightly pricier than other scrubs, it’s a huge tub that will last you for quite a while, and in my opinion it’s quite worth it.

Now moving onto the tanning part. This was my first time self-tanning so I must admit I need some practice. However, the Payot Elixir Sublimant Mist comes in a spraying can which makes it for easy application. You only have to spray onto dried skin at a distance of around 40cm and leave it to dry without spreading. Just a warning; as soon as you spray it, it comes out as an oily sheen which you’d think won’t make a difference colour-wise but after a couple of hours the colour starts developing so I suggest waiting for the colour to develop before going in for another round. It applies quite uniform (so no patches) and leaves you with quite a natural tan. On my first application, the only issue I had is on my foot as I applied it too closely and quite heavily without waiting for it to develop so I was left with quite an orange foot HA! However, practice makes perfect and now I learned my lesson that I have to apply it from a distance and wait for it to develop. It also contains extract of black rose which leaves quite a luminous and soft effect on the skin.

As you can see, the difference is quite noticeable from one leg to another yet it still looks quite natural. Just in case you’d like to know, I applied 3 layers of tanner.

Phew! If you made it this far, than thank you for reading through such a long and detailed post! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Review: Payot Hydra 24+ Crème Glacée*

Review: Payot Hydra 24+ Crème Glacée*

Payot Paris is a skin care brand that I’m not really familiar with. However, after trying one of their products I’m convinced that Payot is a brand that deserved more recognition, especially in Malta.

The Hydra 24+ Range is suitable for all skin types and all ages. Hydra 24+ Crème Glacée is a daily moisturizer that also plumps the skin, giving it that healthy and fresh look. Although it is suitable for all skin types, I would personally recommend it to those who have normal to dry skin and to those who have combinations skin yet is flaky and dehydrated (like mine). Its silky, rich and satin soft texture sinks into the skin leaving it super hydrated and fresh without making your face feel tacky or weighed down. All you’re left with is a smooth and radiant complexion.

This moisturizer contains Vitamin C and E, Creatine which is a synthetic active ingredient of natural amino acids, Hydra Defence Complex which is made out of fig, watermelon, red algae extract and H2O patch and also an Anti-Pollution active which helps in preserving the skin’s youth and protecting it against the harmful effects of pollution.

Hydra 24+ Crème Glacée comes in a pretty 50ml glass jar which will last you a long time since a little bit goes a long way. I’ve been using this moisturizer morning and evening after I cleanse and tone my face and it’s been doing a great job, especially when I apply foundation on top of it as it makes the dry patches less noticeable.
I can’t wait to try out more products from Payot!
