Review: 2 Products you need from the Payot Crème N˚2 Range*

It’s been a while since my last skincare post, so today I want to tell you a bit about 2 products from Payot France which I’ve been loving recently! You know that Payot is a skin care brand which I personally love and I’m always on the hunt for the next fantastic product to share with you lovers of skincare.

Today I shall be talking to you about Payot Crème N˚2 Range, which has been designed specifically for sensitive and reactive skin. Each product makes use of natural active ingredients proven to help soothe redness and irritation. These products came at the best time as I’ve been doing a peeling treatment to lighten my acne scars and I wanted something natural as not to irritate my freshly peeled skin.

Payot Crème N˚2 Eau Lactee Micellaire
This cleanser is a milk-lotion type of cleanser which you apply on a cotton pad (the pump is fantastic as you don’t waste any product) and apply to your face to remove makeup and cleanse the skin. It is quite delicate and gentle, which is a factor that I love. The creamy texture also leaves a refreshing feeling on your skin and it soothes any redness or sensitivity. Another aspect I love is the fact that it is fragrance-free, which is makes it the best product for sensitive skin (especially after my peeling sessions!)

Although I love this product, I will still continue to use an oil to remove my make up first as I hate using a lot of cotton pads, however, this is a fantastic product to go in for a double cleanse and remove any makeup residue (as we all know that no matter how hard you try and remove all your makeup in one go, you still need to go in with another product to get rid of it). This product is the perfect cleanser as the final cleanser in your double cleansing routine.

Payot Crème N˚2 L’Essentielle Soothing and Comforting Balm

This product is a soothing moisturizer in the form of a melt in balm. Upon application it truly melts into your skin and you feel as if you don’t have anything on your face. However, for me it felt as a hydrating and soothing layer of goodness on your skin. This product acts as a true natural shield and instantly soothes redness and the feeling of discomfort. It also rebalances the skin flora to strengthen the skin’s defenses. It's the perfect everyday moisturizer!

Both these products are made from the most skin-friendly ingredients to ensure maximum compatibility with the skin, so if you have sensitive skin these products are definitely the ones for you!

Hope you enjoyed today’s read! Please do check out Payot France Skincare as from what I’ve tried so far, they’re some of my favourite products to date!

Payot products can be found in all Franks Outlets.

Hope you all have a lovely week!

Review: Korres Skincare Wild Rose Collection*

Review: Korres Skincare Wild Rose Collection*
Wednesday, 30 January 2019
Read post

A couple of posts back, I’ve spoken to you about a wonderful event I attended which introduced us to Korres Skincare and their Wild Rose Collection (click here to read it, if you haven’t yet). After we were given a detailed introduction by the lovely brand manager of Korres Malta, Stephanie, we were all super intrigued and thus, couldn’t wait to put the products to the test.

I’ve been testing out these products for a couple of months now, and I have to say, they do not disappoint!

Step 1: Korres Wild Rose Foaming Cream Cleanser

This luxurious foaming cream cleanser enriched with Wild Rose oil is such a treat to the skin. I use it as the second step to my double cleansing routine as I find that when using it, my skin doesn’t feel tight or dried out but rather hydrated and soft. I apply it by first wetting my face and then rubbing it in gently in circles to make it lather –a little bit goes a long way so the bottle will last me quite a while. As soon as I pat my face dry with a towel, my skin is noticeably brighter, fresher and cleaner.

Step 2: Korres Wild Rose 15% Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Bi-Phase Booster

Vitamin C is a key ingredient to reducing skin inflammation and irregular pigmentation/acne scars as well as being an important ingredient for collagen production. The Korres Wild Rose 15% Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Bi-Phase Booster is a potent serum which helps your skin look brighter, smoother and generally younger.

I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to use this product in the morning because as a bi-phase product, it contains oil and I was expecting to look like a greasy mess – but I was wrong. As soon as I tested it out, I noticed that it gives my skin a luminous glow, especially when I don’t wear any makeup as on its own it makes me look bright and fresh – and the scent is just divine. Within the first week of incorporating it in my skincare routine, I have noticed that when I have a bout of hormonal breakouts, the marks they leave behind are lighter than when I didn’t use the serum – so I definitely recommend it to everyone, but especially to those who suffer from acne-prone skin.

I apply it both morning and night after I cleanse my face, on dry skin and wait for it to be absorbed into my skin before I apply the next step.

Step 3: Korres Wild Rose Brightening & First Wrinkles Day Cream (Oily to Combination Skin)

As part of my morning skincare routine, after I let the serum set, I conclude my routine with this moisturiser. It’s a lovely cream with a soft wild rose scent, which keeps my face hydrated all day and keeps it protected from environmental pollutants. I find that it’s an extra shield for my skin and together with the serum it helps with brightening my skin and lightening the scars/marks I have.

Step 4: Korres Wild Rose Brightening & First Wrinkles Advanced Repair Sleeping Facial

Believe me when I say, this product is so lush! The texture is so velvety and smooth that it is indeed a facial in a jar. As you might know, sleep helps our bodies recover and repair and since our skin is also being renewed and repaired, skincare products used during the night should help boost this function.

I apply this product as a final step to my routine and I like to perform a small massage, to allow time for my skin to be soothed and hydrated while the ingredients penetrate into my skin. This sleeping facial is infused with wild rose oil which helps reduce redness and soften/prevent fine lines while the Vitamin C,  as I said earlier, helps brighten the complexion which means I wake up with the softest and smoothest skin in the morning!

All products mentioned have a very high percentage in natural content which means that the products do not contain harsh chemicals such as mineral oil, parabens, synthetic dye, SLES etc.

If you want to see the products in action, check out my night time skincare routine video below featuring 3 of the products mentioned!

I can’t wait to test out more products from Korres Skincare! The Wild Rose Collection worked wonders on my skin, so I urge you to check them out!

VIP Launch of Korres Skincare & their signature Wild Rose Collection

VIP Launch of Korres Skincare & their signature Wild Rose Collection
Wednesday, 7 November 2018
Read post

Tuesday 30th October. Villa Arrigo.

Walking up the stairs, we couldn’t be more excited for the launch of Korres Skincare, and their newly launched Wild Rose Collection. We were welcomed with prosecco, embellished with a rose petal - aptly reflecting the collection we were there to learn about.

The event in itself was quite different to others that I’ve been to – it was intimate, highly informative and we had a wonderful time. After chatting with other bloggers and influencers, we were kindly asked to sit down at a long table decorated with wild rose cut outs and the products from the collection right in front of us. After the lovely brand manager, Stephanie, gave us an introduction to the brand, she delved into some key points about each product – which we could test out whilst hearing all about it.

If you’ve never heard of Korres Skincare, let me give you some background to it. Korres is a Greek skin care brand with roots in Athens’ oldest homoeopathic pharmacy. The brand’s aim is to utilise its extensive scientific resources (Lena Korres, the wife of George Korres, is a chemical engineer) for the development of clinical effective and safe products, producing a natural and certified organic range in all areas of beauty and skincare. They feel that they have a commitment to natural products which truly deliver results to their consumers. What I loved the most whilst hearing all about the brand, was the fact that on their products they have what they call ‘Formula Facts’. This contains the percentage of natural content and which ingredients are in and not in the product, so you’ll have a good idea of what it doesn’t contain as well – usually, brands only list what the product contains rather than what it doesn’t – which I found very interesting.

The Wild Rose Collection promotes brightening and active radiance. It contains Wild Rose Oil which is a natural source of Vitamin C, which demonstrates significant repairing activity to fine lines and skin colour disorders while adding brightness and radiance to the skin. Whilst reading this you might say, “this doesn’t apply to me as I don’t have fine lines”, however, this range is for all skin types and all age groups – we say that prevention is better than cure and it couldn’t be truer. Vitamin C helps give you that radiance your skin lacks whilst helping you keep fine lines at bay – so need I say more?

To close off the lovely evening, we had a beauty station offering hairstyles incorporating roses and hand massages using Korres hand creams. Plus, a flatlay station which was amazing! It was all set up with lights and an array of props (which I definitely need for my personal collection!) and we had a flatlay challenge amongst the invitees using the products from the collection and any props we liked – and I unexpectedly won!

I can’t wait to test out some products from the range and tell you more about them once I get a good feel of the products – I have a feeling that I’ll be quite impressed as they look (and smell!) fantastic! Baby smooth skin, here I come!

Korres products can be found at Remedies Pharmacies in Ta’ Xbiex, Birkirkara, Mellieha, Sliema (opening soon) and Siggiewi, Central Pharmacy in Rabat, and St Andrew's Pharmacy in Swieqi.

Review: Ziaja Manuka Tree Purifying Range

Review: Ziaja Manuka Tree Purifying Range

Read post

I’m finally back! And yes, this time I’m back for good so expect more frequent content! Third year at University was so hectic that I had to take a step back from blogging to focus on my studies. And then work got in the way so I still didn’t have time to organise my thoughts, produce content, shoot and write. But now, finally, I can announce that I’ll be graduating this November (which is super exciting!) and things have calmed down at work so I’m super glad to be back – writing for you who stuck by me during this one hell of a hiatus!

So let’s get to it, shall we?

A while ago, I was generously given a set of skincare products by Beauty Care Malta to try out and review for you lovelies. Since I’ve had them for quite a while (read: months), I tested them out and had time to see results so I’m now fully able to give you my true and honest opinions about them.
Ziaja is not a brand we’re familiar with in Malta, especially since it’s a Polish manufacturer of pharmaceuticals imported by a new company in Malta. After testing them for a while, the products seemed to work quite well for my combination, acne-prone skin. Let’s get on with the review:

Manuka Tree Purifying Normalising Cleansing Gel:
In the beginning, I used to use this cleansing gel everyday however, after a while I noticed that it was drying me out quite a bit. So now, I use this cleansing gel 3 times a week, and on the days I don’t use it I use something gentler. It is soap-free so it makes it less irritating, especially for those of you who suffer with sensitive skin and overall I find that it cleanses my skin and prepares it for the next step quite well.

Manuka Tree Purifying Deeply Cleansing Peeling Paste:
Unfortunately, I have a love/hate relationship with this product due to the fact that I find it too abrasive. Skin types change over time, as did mine, and my skin type although earlier I said that it is combination and acne-prone, it is also quite dehydrated so the abrasive granules in this peeling paste scrub my skin way too hard.

Manuka Tree Purifying Astringent Face Toner:
This face toner is amazing! I love using it after I cleanse and tone my face, as it gives it a cooling and soothing effect. It contains organic acids which gently exfoliate the skin, soothe acne lesions and reduced dilated pores.

Manuka Tree Purifying Normalising Day Cream (SPF 10):
As a normalising day cream, this product moisturises my skin without leaving it shiny as it provides a slight mattifying effect. It is also supposed to reduce blackheads and skin imperfections however, on my skin, it didn’t work out as well as I hoped.  Although it contains SPF 10, I would recommend that you use a stronger SPF on top of it since it only contains a low level of protection.

Manuka Tree Purifying Gently Exfoliating Night Cream with Almond Acid:
This product smells amazing! Not that the others don’t, but this one smells even better. Three times a week, I like to conclude my skin care routine with this product as I find that it helps dry out any spots I have. However, I also found that if I used it every day, it was making my skin way too dry so I tried to limit use to three times a week. I also like the fact that it moisturises and brightens my complexion which I definitely like in a product.

That’s it, lovelies! Hope you enjoyed reading my first blog post since I returned! Let me know if there are any products you’d like me to review or any topics you’d like me to talk about!

Happy Saturday!

Keeping our skin hydrated with Payot Hydra24 Corps*

Keeping our skin hydrated with Payot Hydra24 Corps*
Sunday, 25 March 2018
Read post

Happy Sunday my loves! Today, I’m reviewing another Payot product – this time, it’s the Hydra 24 Corps. Personally, I feel that Payot as a brand is quite an underrated one and that’s why I like to shine the spotlight on products which there aren’t many reviews on them, especially from bloggers from our tiny island. So let’s move on to the review!

The Payot Hydra24 Corps is described as a “Hydrating, firming treatment for a youthful body with Hydro-Regulator complex”. The first thing that I love about this body lotion is the bottle it comes in. Unlike other body lotions, this one comes with a pump which makes it all the more easy to apply; I just leave it on my bedroom vanity or take it in with me in the bathroom and apply it as soon as I get out of the shower. I should also mention that it comes in a huge bottle at 400ml of products which would last quite a while.

The texture of this lotion is also something I really like about this product; it’s rich and moisturizing but it doesn’t leave you with an oily residue or a sticky mess. It’s also super hydrating for those of you who have dry skin like me. It contains something called a Hydro-Regulator complex which continuously releases hydration so that the skin maintains its natural moisture levels. The scent of this body lotion is also very subtle, like a vanilla-baby powder type of scent if you get what I mean.  So if you want hydrated, moisturized and glowing from within skin – then this body lotion is the one for you!

Review: Elizabeth Arden | Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Skincare*

Review: Elizabeth Arden | Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Skincare*
Saturday, 29 April 2017
Read post

With the change of seasons, we see a change in our skin. And apart from eating healthy and staying well-hydrated, what better way to take care of your skin than by trying out some lush skincare products? So I thought this was a wonderful opportunity to try out some Elizabeth Arden goodies that were given to me in a generous goodie bag by Melita Health & Beauty during their beauty event held in November.

So let’s review some Elizabeth Arden Skincare, shall we?

FLAWLESS FUTURE Powered by Ceramide™ Caplet Serum
This serum contains caplet mini beads which when you pump mix with a gel and once dispensed you can see that it has a slight shimmer to it which rejuvenates the look of tired skin and helps give the skin that radiant glow. Yet, it does not have a heavy or thick texture as it leaves you with a nice, weightless finish.

CERAMIDE GOLD Ultra Restorative Capsules
My mum has raved about capsule serums for as long as I can remember. And now, I got to try the product for myself to see what is so special about these capsules. The product is both fragrance and preservative-free. Once you break the capsule, you see that you have the perfect amount for your face. The texture is slightly on the thicker side however after a while, the product sinks into your skin leaving it hydrated, fresh and plump. I got these products in sample sizes to try out, and through a bit of research one can see that they are slightly on the expensive, more luxurious side of skincare. However, if you’re looking for a serum that works, this is it – especially for anyone who has dry, sensitive or aging skin.

FLAWLESS FUTURE Powered by Ceramide™ Moisture Cream Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30
Enriched with revitalizing Ceramide Skin Identical Matrix, Protective Protein Complex, skin brighteners, and pore refiners, this would make a good everyday moisturiser; it brightens the skin and leaves it feeling more hydrated. Plus, it gives you the protection of a sunscreen due to its SPF 30. The texture is really lovely as it sinks in the skin without leaving an oily residue (which is a bonus considering I have combination skin).

Check out these products at Melita Health and Beauty in St. Julians where the lovely staff will help you choose the best products for your skin!

Hope you’re all having a wonderful (long) weekend!

Review: Eau Thermale Avène | Cleanance Range*

Review: Eau Thermale Avène | Cleanance Range*
Saturday, 18 March 2017
Read post

I’m back lovelies! I must apologize for the longer than expected hiatus however I finally feel that I can get back to blogging!

Today I shall be reviewing some products from Avène Eau Thermale, a French pharmacy brand that incorporates thermal water in all of their products. Today I will be focusing specifically their Cleanance Range. The past January and February I’ve battled with lots of stress due to university exams and assignments and between stress, hormones and the weather, my skin had been suffering from a bout of breakouts. This is not really surprising for me since I have acne-prone skin however I wanted to find some products that would help with this.

That is where the Avène Cleanance Range comes in. This range is directed at oily, blemish-prone skin so after I’ve been generously gifted these products, I thought it was the best time to put them to test.

Cleanance Cleansing Gel (for face and body)
This teal-coloured cleansing gel is a soap-free formula which helps eliminate impurities and excess oil without being harsh and stripping the skin. I usually use a pea-sized amount (a little goes on a long way) on my palms and rub into my face morning and night, and then wash away with lukewarm water. It contains Monolaurin which helps reduce excess oil, Zinc Gluconate which help soothe irritation and redness and their famous Avène Thermal Spring Water which helps soothe, soften and calm the skin. I feel that it deep cleanses my face without making it feel all dry and tight. It actually leaves it so soft and fresh looking!

Cleanance MAT Mattifying Emulsion
This has to be my favourite product out of the 3! This lightweight, oil free moisturizer comes in a tube, which makes it great to squeeze out a dollop without having to put your fingers in. After you apply it to a clean face (as you would a moisturizer) and its absorbed super-fast, you’ll find that it serves as a great base for your foundation. It leaves your face very smooth and somewhat dewy, however once you apply your foundation I found that it becomes more matte, and the foundation sits beautifully on top. Personally, this has to be the best mattifying base I found thus far.

Cleanance EXPERT

This award-winning moisturiser is specifically for skin that experiences blackheads. It targets blemishes at every stage and controls sebum (the oil that the skin produces) at the same time. The shea butter helps with nourishing the skin whilst an ingredient called X-Pressin has the ability to gently exfoliate the skin while reducing the appearance of blackheads. Another ingredient found in the product is called Diolényl and this helps with the appearance of redness and helps to visibly reduce blemishes. Now, I must admit I have been using this product for very long so I have yet to see an improvement however, I found that it is very moisturising yet does not leave a tacky film behind and definitely nourishes the skin leaving it very fresh looking.

So does #ABlondeontheGo recommend these products? The answer is YES!
Can’t wait to try out more products from this brand!

Until the next!

Review: Olay Skincare*

Review: Olay Skincare*
Monday, 14 November 2016
Read post

For me skin care is a priority. As you know, for a makeup look to turn out right you have to have a nice canvas to begin with, and that is why good skin care products are a must. In this post I will be reviewing some Olay products I’ve been testing out for the last couple of months, so read on!

OLAY Refreshing Facial Cleansing Gel
This product has been my cleanser of choice for a while now. Its gel-to-foam formula is very gentle on the skin leaving your face feeling clean and refreshed due to aloe vera and cucumber extracts. Also, a little bit goes a long way (I put a pea-size amount on my hands and lather it up before I apply to my face) and it’s a very affordable cleanser as well, so you can’t go wrong!

OLAY Essentials Beauty Fluid
This product is such a classic! I remember my mum using it as part of her skin care regime when I was younger and I always loved its scent. My mum swears by this product! Now that the weather is (finally) getting colder, our skin screams for moisturizing and hydrating products and this product gives it all the moisture it requires. This daily moisturizer not only provides you with the essential moisture your skin needs leaving it feeling soft and smooth but its light, not too thick nor too runny non-greasy formula is quickly absorbed into the skin making it an ideal base for make-up, it’s also dermatologically tested and pH Neutral
.

OLAY Total Effects Moist Blemish Care 50ml
Despite my high hopes for this product, it didn’t work out for my skin. However, I’m not giving blame to this product as I know that my skin is at fault here; my breakouts are too stubborn.  This product is Olay’s first moisturizer to offer all the anti-aging properties of the Total Effects range PLUS an added anti-blemish complex. It has a unique blend of 7 vitamins and minerals and 'salicylic' anti-blemish complex helps fight ageing and the appearance of blemishes at the same time, giving you younger and clearer looking skin. Although I didn’t find it as successful on my skin in the anti-blemish department, I still use the product as a moisturizer as its very light and silky texture makes it a great base for makeup.

OLAY Complete Care Day Cream
During the summer I used this product religiously every day, no lie! It hydrates, nourishes and protects the skin day by day. It is said to be for those with normal/dry skin however I found that it also worked great on my combination/dehydrated skin. Although it’s a daily facial moisturiser, it has loads of benefits such as: SolaSheerTM UVA/UVB protection with SPF15, 24h Moisture that hydrates 7 layers deep, aloe Vera to calm dry, sensitive skin, a non-greasy, easily absorbed formula that won't clog pores thus making it a great base for makeup and skin pampering nourishing vitamins (B3, E and Pro-V B5). The product is also dermatologically tested.

Should you be interested in trying out these products, you can purchase them directly from the agents of Olay in Malta - VJ Salomone - from their online shop: http://shop.vjsm.com.mt/beauty-personal-care/olay/

Have you ever tried Olay products?

Review: Payot Hydra 24+ Crème Glacée*

Review: Payot Hydra 24+ Crème Glacée*
Friday, 14 October 2016
Read post

Payot Paris is a skin care brand that I’m not really familiar with. However, after trying one of their products I’m convinced that Payot is a brand that deserved more recognition, especially in Malta.

The Hydra 24+ Range is suitable for all skin types and all ages. Hydra 24+ Crème Glacée is a daily moisturizer that also plumps the skin, giving it that healthy and fresh look. Although it is suitable for all skin types, I would personally recommend it to those who have normal to dry skin and to those who have combinations skin yet is flaky and dehydrated (like mine). Its silky, rich and satin soft texture sinks into the skin leaving it super hydrated and fresh without making your face feel tacky or weighed down. All you’re left with is a smooth and radiant complexion.

This moisturizer contains Vitamin C and E, Creatine which is a synthetic active ingredient of natural amino acids, Hydra Defence Complex which is made out of fig, watermelon, red algae extract and H2O patch and also an Anti-Pollution active which helps in preserving the skin’s youth and protecting it against the harmful effects of pollution.

Hydra 24+ Crème Glacée comes in a pretty 50ml glass jar which will last you a long time since a little bit goes a long way. I’ve been using this moisturizer morning and evening after I cleanse and tone my face and it’s been doing a great job, especially when I apply foundation on top of it as it makes the dry patches less noticeable.
I can’t wait to try out more products from Payot!

Payot products can be found in all Franks Outlets

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Review: Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar*

Review: Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar*
Saturday, 1 October 2016
Read post
Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water has been the talk of the town one of the most hyped products in the blogging world for a while now. For some reason I’m not one to succumb to these hypes easily unless I can (in one way or another) believe that said product is really worth the hype. That is where Bioderma’s Sensibio H2O Micellar Water comes in.

Micellar Waters have always been a part of my skin care regimen. They’re just a quick and easy way to remove makeup before using a cleanser. However, I find that there’s something special about Bioderma’s formula.

First of all, it’s very gentle on the skin thus making it appropriate for people with sensitive skin as it soothes and clears up irritated skin. Secondly, it removes all makeup from the face and eyes – even your most stubborn waterproof mascara or eyeliner. It leaves your face with an instant feeling of freshness. And above all it’s a non-rinse formula, so if after a long night out you’re tired and you’re definitely not in the mood to remove your makeup and having to wash your face, you can quickly remove your makeup with this micellar water by pouring a little bit of formula on a cotton pad and go straight to bed! It doesn’t leave any sticky or tacky residue behind so it doesn’t leave your skin feeling all weird and uncomfortable.

In addition, Bioderma’s Sensibio H2O Micellar Water is alcohol free, paraben free, fragrance free and hypoallergenic. This is definitely one of the most impressive Micellar Waters I had the pleasure of using.

AND THERE’S MORE! The lovely people at Melita Health and Beauty were kind enough to offer a 15% discount on all Bioderma products to my readers! Just visit Melita Pharmacy in St. Julians and upon purchasing any Bioderma product, all you need to do is quote the name of my blog to get 15% off. How great is that?!

Have you ever tried Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water?
