A while back, I spoke to you about Korres, a Greek skincare brand based on natural ingredients. Ingredients which leave your skin looking refreshed and healthy. At the time, Korres had only launched their Wild Rose Range which I have been loving ever since. So you can imagine how excited I was when Korres sent me a few products from their recently-launched Greek Yoghurt line to try out!

Apparently, Greek Yoghurt is not only healthy to consume but it is also super healthy for your skin as it hydrates and soothes it.  According to Korres, they were the first brand to incorporate “live edible yoghurt into a skincare product” so I was definitely excited to put the products to the test.

Cleanser

The Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser is a luscious cleanser which comes out in cream form but turns into a lovely foam whilst cleansing the skin. This cleanser contains the following key ingredients; Greek yoghurt (duh!), amaranth (a fiber & protein-rich grain) as well as honeysuckle. It is suitable for all skin types; I have combination, acne-prone skin and I found it very soothing as it cleaned my skin well and was gentle enough that it did not irritate my breakouts and sensitive areas. It was also perfect for my forehead and my cheeks which tend to be quite dry as it did not dry them out further as some cleansers tend to do. This is definitely an all-rounder when it comes to cleansers so I definitely recommend it!

Mask

The Korres Greek Yoghurt Hydra-Biome Probiotic Superdose Mask is heaven in a jar! Since I have acne-prone skin, I deal with a lot of redness and irritation. I love this mask because it balances out my skin, soothes the redness and irritations and makes it feel nourished. I like to apply a nice, thick layer and after 15 minutes on my face (as soon as I see it almost melting into my skin), I wash my face. You can immediately see that the skin feels and appears hydrated and more alive as it smoothens the texture of my skin, reduces redness and soothes irritation!

It’s also fantastic for the summer, as it has a cooling effect (especially if you put it in the fridge) so it’s definitely a product you need after a day at the beach! It’s a gentle mask, but don’t let that trick you into thinking it’s not worth trying because this little jar of magic works miracles for hydration and soothing properties thanks to the natural ingredients it contains!

Moisturiser

This Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Probiotic Gel Moisturizing Cream is formulated with full-fat Greek yogurt to help soothe and nourish dry skin. If you’re obsessed with Greek yogurt (the food), you’ll love this daily moisturizer, packed with a natural source of proteins, vitamins and minerals (think olive oil concentrate and macadamia nuts). It has a similar and delightful scent as the Foaming Cream Cleanser and similar appearance, although somewhat runnier. I love how smooth and velvety the texture is and it doesn’t leave a sticky residue on my skin, leaving it feel velvet soft. This Korres Moisturising Cream contains a Microbiome Re-Balancing Technology to balance out and support the skin without over-compensating. It is also rich in collagen building protein to reduce redness and give a healthy bounce and plumpness to the skin.

Overall, the Greek Yoghurt line from Korres was a huge hit with my skin. I do not have anything like them in my skincare collection so I’ll definitely continue using them and will repurchase once they finish. I definitely urge you to check them out for yourselves to experience the hydrating and soothing properties of this range.

Korres Greek Yoghurt Line can be found at Remedies Pharmacies in Ta’ Xbiex, Birkirkara, Mellieha, Sliema, Siggiewi, Mqabba, Msida and Pearl Beauty, Arkadia Shopping Complex, Gozo.

Updated Review (22/07/20): Long Lashes Forever Serum*

Updated Review (22/07/20): Long Lashes Forever Serum*
Saturday, 7 September 2019
Read post
In the beginning of August, I shared with you a product that I was about to put to the test – the Long Lashes Forever Serum, and I told you that after I put it to the test myself for a few weeks, I’d be back to share my thoughts with you all – so here I am! I’ve been using the product religiously every night for the past 4 weeks, and I can indeed tell you that I have seen a difference in my lashes!

The Long Lashes Forever Serum contains an active ingredient which helps stimulate lash growth, as well as other ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid which moisturises and smooths the lash surface, and Pro-Vitamin B5 which improves the structure of the hair fibers by making them appear stronger, shinier and more flexible.

I usually remove my makeup and cleanse my face thoroughly every night, moisturise or apply a night mask and pop this serum onto my upper lash line right before I sleep. In the 4 weeks that I’ve used the Long Lashes Forever Serum, I’ve noticed that my lashes decreased in the amount of shedding – I usually notice that every time I put on mascara, I lose a couple of lashes however this product seems to have made my lashes stronger. I’ve also been asked multiple times whether I was wearing false lashes when I wasn’t so I quite believe that this serum made my lashes appear fuller and longer. I plan on continuing using this product until it finishes so I can see the full result, but so far, I’m quite happy with the results upon using the Long Lashes Forever Serum!

3 Month Update (28th October 2019)
So, 3 months in and after using the Long Lashes Forever Serum religiously every night for 3 months, the difference is quite noticeable. My lashes are stronger and darker in colour, they shed less so I haven't been losing as many lashes as before, they appear fuller and their natural curl seems to be more defined - definitely a win in my books! And there's still some product left so it is definitely worth checking out!

8 Months Later Update (22nd July 2020)

After my initial test run with the Long Lashes Forever Serum, I decided to do another 3 months of using this product seeing that it worked wonderfully the first-time round. I repurchased it again back in late April, and started using it immediately, as indicated; after cleaning my face in the evening and put on my evening skincare routine, my last step is always to apply the Long Lashes Forever serum to the base of my top eyelashes. As I mentioned when I first tested it, the results can be seen immediately when used as suggested; I believe I was able to see results within two weeks of everyday use and the growth has been uniform. I have noticed that since I’ve started using the Long Lashes Forever, mascara seems to apply better and my lashes don’t fall off as frequently as they used to. The length and density of my eyelashes can be clearly noticed when I am not wearing any makeup so it’s definitely a plus. As a lash serum, the Long Lashes Forever Serum is definitely the one to try; for the price, you get 3+ months of everyday use since a little bit goes a long way as well as noticeable results! So, what are you waiting for? Trust me, go try it now!

The Long Lashes Forever Serum is available from Fragrance Malta.

Happy Weekend!

Review: Revlon PhotoReady Candid Collection*

Review: Revlon PhotoReady Candid Collection*

The key to great makeup is having a flawless canvas to work on, hence why your base makeup products need to be amazing. This is why I put the new Revlon PhotoReady Candid Collection to the test!

Formulated with no harsh ingredients, the Revlon PhotoReady Candid Collection includes a foundation, concealer and powder which offer medium buildable coverage up. Ingredients-wise, the products are rich in antioxidants, oil-free and contain anti-pollution and anti-blue light technology, both necessary in today’s world.

The foundation has thick, creamy texture which feels lightweight once applied to the skin. It comes in 6 skin tone matching shades and the tube comes with a pump which makes it more efficient and hygienic. The Revlon PhotoReady Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation provides a natural-looking finish with little product required, as you can see in the photos below, and it also offer medium coverage, buildable to full if you need that extra coverage like I do. The added bonus of no oils, parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes or artificial fragrances makes it a winner in my books!

The Antioxidant Concealer comes in 3 shades, and comes in a tube with an oval doe-foot applicator which makes for easier application. I’m a big fan of the formula, it’s not too thin but not too thick either – the perfect creamy buildable formula which covers those annoying under-eye bags and dark circles. It is also infused with caffeine which gives the eyes that pick me up needed to look more bright and awake.

The Revlon PhotoReady Candid Anti-Pollution Setting Powder is available in one translucent shade, which is anti-whitening and anti-chalking, so you will not get that caked powdery look. It is very lightweight and adds that final blurring effect to your makeup look. It also works great for setting under the eyes – what we call “baking”.

And that’s it from me! What are your thoughts? Have you tried any of these products?

Revlon products are available from selected pharmacies and leading supermarkets.

Black Cat Café, Victoria, Gozo – A Hidden Gem

Black Cat Café, Victoria, Gozo – A Hidden Gem
Wednesday, 14 August 2019
Read post

Black Cat Café, 19, Triq Vajrinġa, Victoria, Gozo (+356 21569240)

Hidden away in the backstreets of Victoria, Gozo, Black Cat Café is the ultimate spot for a mid-morning brunch or a quick coffee and dessert break in the afternoon.

Upon entering the doors of Black Cat Café, you are greeted with vibrant purple walls adorned with chalk boards and peculiar ornaments and picture frames. Situated opposite Gozo’s National Library, the artisan coffers an intimate and cosy atmosphere which might be appreciated by some, but is not ideal for those who suffer from claustrophobia as the café is quite small in size and space.

Paula, the Maltese-Australian owner, and her daughter took great care of us from the moment we arrived, recommending us a delicious cup of tea from the wide variety of natural organic loose teas on offer, including Jasmine Blossom Green Tea and Scottish Breakfast Black Tea served in a traditional Kyusu (Japanese teapot). As we are not big fans on tea, we opted for a cappuccino, a caramel latte and a chai latte with almond milk, as we were made aware that they offer alternative diary free options, such as almond or soya milk – which if you are lactose intolerant like myself, would be grateful for like I were.

As we were given the menus, we were also informed that she would be more than happy to adjust the menu to suit each individual’s preferences. Whether you are gluten intolerant or following a vegan diet, you will definitely find something to satisfy your cravings. For the Aussies in Gozo, at the Black Cat Café you will also find some snacks to make you feel right at home, such as the traditional vegemite on toast and homemade sausage rolls. Also, do ask for the specials, as Black Cat Café is known to have both daily and seasonal specials!

We settled on the chilli ginger salmon on rye bread, the poached egg and smashed avocado on multi grain toast and a bowl of spicy tomato soup. As we waited for our food, soft jazz played just at the right volume. In the meantime, we could also hear the owner, who is also the cook, in the kitchen, beating the eggs which made the experience all the more homely and made the lack of space in the café even more noticeable.

The food oozed the warmth of homemade food, and you could see that the owner has a clear passion for food, both in terms of quality and taste, as it is quite perceptible from the care put into preparation and display. Everything was genuinely fresh and delicious; the home style spicy tomato soup was served with an accompanying soft bread roll and was subtly spicy yet strong enough to warm you up on a cold winter day, the poached egg and smashed avocado on a thick piece of multi grain toast served with rocket on top was beautifully presented and quite appetizing, and the chilli ginger salmon on crisp rye bread was mouth-watering.

We could not resist not having a piece of cake after our scrumptious lunch, and I am sure you will be tempted too as Black Cat Café is known for its homemade cakes and pastries, including vegan, sugar free and gluten free varieties. There were various desserts on display, such as Anzac biscuits and lamingtons which are originally Australian, however, we settled on the ricotta and lemon cake which was flavoursome, the banana cake which was deliciously moist and perfectly flavoured and the raw chocolate cheesecake which was rich, creamy and irresistible.

Wondering about the bill? Fear not for your pockets! The food is great value for money as prices at the Black Cat Café are affordable; snacks and mains range from €3 to €8, with the tomato soup and bread roll priced €3 whilst the poached egg and smashed avocado on thick multi grain toast priced at €3.50. Prices of drinks range between €1 and €3.20.

If after reading so far, you are already planning on a trip to Black Cat Café, you need to keep in mind the following. Unfortunately, the café is not easily accessible for wheelchair users as there are a couple of steps to enter, as well as the size of the café makes it a bit of a problem to enter the premises. The second downside is the opening hours; Black Cat Café opens Monday to Saturday from 8am to 4pm, with the kitchen closing at 3pm, which one might find slightly odd as 4pm is the perfect time for someone to pop in for tea and cake. Regrettably, I was also informed that on Sundays they do not open.

Despite the few shortcomings mentioned, the good exceeds the bad, and the warm and welcoming staff as well as the fresh and absolutely delicious food, drink and dessert options definitely make Black Cat Café a hidden gem worth visiting whilst in Gozo!

Review: Korres Skincare Wild Rose Collection*

Review: Korres Skincare Wild Rose Collection*
Wednesday, 30 January 2019
Read post

A couple of posts back, I’ve spoken to you about a wonderful event I attended which introduced us to Korres Skincare and their Wild Rose Collection (click here to read it, if you haven’t yet). After we were given a detailed introduction by the lovely brand manager of Korres Malta, Stephanie, we were all super intrigued and thus, couldn’t wait to put the products to the test.

I’ve been testing out these products for a couple of months now, and I have to say, they do not disappoint!

Step 1: Korres Wild Rose Foaming Cream Cleanser

This luxurious foaming cream cleanser enriched with Wild Rose oil is such a treat to the skin. I use it as the second step to my double cleansing routine as I find that when using it, my skin doesn’t feel tight or dried out but rather hydrated and soft. I apply it by first wetting my face and then rubbing it in gently in circles to make it lather –a little bit goes a long way so the bottle will last me quite a while. As soon as I pat my face dry with a towel, my skin is noticeably brighter, fresher and cleaner.

Step 2: Korres Wild Rose 15% Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Bi-Phase Booster

Vitamin C is a key ingredient to reducing skin inflammation and irregular pigmentation/acne scars as well as being an important ingredient for collagen production. The Korres Wild Rose 15% Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Bi-Phase Booster is a potent serum which helps your skin look brighter, smoother and generally younger.

I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to use this product in the morning because as a bi-phase product, it contains oil and I was expecting to look like a greasy mess – but I was wrong. As soon as I tested it out, I noticed that it gives my skin a luminous glow, especially when I don’t wear any makeup as on its own it makes me look bright and fresh – and the scent is just divine. Within the first week of incorporating it in my skincare routine, I have noticed that when I have a bout of hormonal breakouts, the marks they leave behind are lighter than when I didn’t use the serum – so I definitely recommend it to everyone, but especially to those who suffer from acne-prone skin.

I apply it both morning and night after I cleanse my face, on dry skin and wait for it to be absorbed into my skin before I apply the next step.

Step 3: Korres Wild Rose Brightening & First Wrinkles Day Cream (Oily to Combination Skin)

As part of my morning skincare routine, after I let the serum set, I conclude my routine with this moisturiser. It’s a lovely cream with a soft wild rose scent, which keeps my face hydrated all day and keeps it protected from environmental pollutants. I find that it’s an extra shield for my skin and together with the serum it helps with brightening my skin and lightening the scars/marks I have.

Step 4: Korres Wild Rose Brightening & First Wrinkles Advanced Repair Sleeping Facial

Believe me when I say, this product is so lush! The texture is so velvety and smooth that it is indeed a facial in a jar. As you might know, sleep helps our bodies recover and repair and since our skin is also being renewed and repaired, skincare products used during the night should help boost this function.

I apply this product as a final step to my routine and I like to perform a small massage, to allow time for my skin to be soothed and hydrated while the ingredients penetrate into my skin. This sleeping facial is infused with wild rose oil which helps reduce redness and soften/prevent fine lines while the Vitamin C,  as I said earlier, helps brighten the complexion which means I wake up with the softest and smoothest skin in the morning!

All products mentioned have a very high percentage in natural content which means that the products do not contain harsh chemicals such as mineral oil, parabens, synthetic dye, SLES etc.

If you want to see the products in action, check out my night time skincare routine video below featuring 3 of the products mentioned!

I can’t wait to test out more products from Korres Skincare! The Wild Rose Collection worked wonders on my skin, so I urge you to check them out!

Review: Introducing Payot Blue Techni Liss (Jour & Nuit)*

Review: Introducing Payot Blue Techni Liss (Jour & Nuit)*
Monday, 12 November 2018
Read post

One of life’s purest joys has to be testing out new skincare products. As much as I like makeup, skincare products have always been my personal favourite – be it masks, serums etc. Payot is a brand that you’ve seen me talk about numerous times - and it’s not without reason. As a brand, Payot’s vision from the start was to help women maintain their skin’s natural beauty. This is where their new line comes in – Payot Blue Techni Liss.

Payot Blue Techni Liss is a range that fights the effects of desynchronised skin biorhythms – in simpler words, with the hectic lifestyles we lead, our body feels less and less the difference between day and night, thus, our biological clocks become irregular, resulting in premature wrinkles, dehydrated skin and dull complexion. Apart from fighting against this, Payot Blue Techni Liss also mitigates the impact of blue light (from screens) on our skin.

For the past 3 weeks, I’ve been testing out Payot Blue Techni Liss Nuit and also a sample size of Payot Blue Techni Liss Jour. Containing encapsulated chaste tree berry, horehound extract and hyaluronic acids, both these products are ideal for all skin types and all ages.

Let’s start with the Payot Blue Techni Liss Jour – perfect day cream to wear on its own or underneath makeup. Apart from the earlier mentioned star ingredients, this day cream also contains lindera aggregata extract and hibiscus oligopeptide which inhibits the muscles responsible for the appearance of expression lines. I apply this after I wash my face in the morning, massaging it in. It doesn’t leave any white cast on the face so you can either just wear it on its own or you can even apply makeup on it as it won’t make your face shiny. This day cream will give you smooth, radiant skin whilst giving you protection against the effects of the latest pollutant – blue light from our screens.

As a night cream, we have Payot Blue Techni Liss Nuit – my favourite one of the duo! Apart from the earlier mentioned star ingredients, this night cream also contains nocturnal micro-algae and hibiscus AHA. As you might know, our skin regenerates during the night, and with such a product we are boosting this regeneration to reach its full potential. Its melt-in gel texture is so satisfying that it makes me want to apply it all the time. Upon seeing it in the jar, it has a deep blue tint, however, the blue gel transforms into a beautiful transparent oil upon contact with the skin. After a thorough cleanse, I apply a small amount of this to my face and go to sleep – it has a comfortable finish; it doesn’t make your face sticky or oily and won’t leave any residue on your pillow case. In the morning, my skin looks so plump, smooth and radiant – like new! It also smells amazing which is a bonus!

Have you ever heard of such technology in skincare products? I know I haven’t!

Payot products can be found in all Franks Outlets.

Hope you all have a lovely week!

My Thoughts on Milk Shake's Integrity Range

My Thoughts on Milk Shake's Integrity Range
Friday, 12 October 2018
Read post

Today I’ll be talking to you about some new hair products I’ve been loving as of recently. If you follow the blog’s Facebook Page (which you should, by the way), you know that I’ve been raving about Milk Shake’s Silver Shine Shampoo – I’ve been blonde since I was 13 and I’ve never found a product that saves my hair from turning brassy, that is, until I found Milk Shake’s Silver Shine Shampoo – it saved my hair. After seeing such results, I’ve wanted to try more products from the brand, and after testing out these products for a few weeks, I wanted to share my thoughts with you all.

I am sure most of you know the brand and have probably tried it, however, there are various ranges to choose from with Milk Shake. Today’s post is all about Milk Shake’s Integrity Nourishing Range.

Step 1: Integrity Nourishing Shampoo

The formula of this range contains organic Muru Muru butter, which is known to have a creamy texture and distinctive smell and to be rich in fatty acids, oleic acid, Vitamin A, inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. The shampoo itself is sodium chloride, sulphate and paraben free and works quite nicely as it lathers up to my liking and it does not dry out my hair (I feel that other shampoos I’ve tried in the past from various brands tend to dry out my hair). I believe this shampoo is perfect for those who want a shampoo which is not harsh, and suits every hair type. It also smells amazing which is always a plus ;)

Step 2: Integrity Intensive Treatment

Up next, we have my favourite product from the trio. The Integrity Intensive Treatment makes your hair feel so lush and smooth – it helped my hair detangle more easily, frizz less, the ends feel so nourished and soft and upon blow drying it I felt that I was one of the models in a hair commercial. If you want super soft and luscious hair, then this product is for you! Especially if you have coloured, damaged hair like mine. I use this right after I rinse off the shampoo and I leave it between 5-10mins so it can penetrate through the hair and I can reap all the benefits of the active ingredients such as the muru muru butter. I comb through the hair and rinse it off.

Step 3: Integrity Nourishing Conditioner

The final step when it comes to this trio is the Integrity Nourishing Conditioner. After rinsing off the treatment, I massage the conditioner in and leave it on for around 3-5mins before I comb and rinse. A conditioner is supposed to lock the vitamin and protein obtained from the treatment in your hair. After you feel your hair deeply conditioned and soft like never before.

Personally, these products seem to work beautifully on my hair. My hair hadn’t felt this soft in so long! I feel that this trio made my hair feel deeply nourished – I’ve noticed that since I’ve started using these, my hair is less frizzy, it is more manageable (especially when it comes to brushing), it feels super soft and looks more shiny. I’m super impressed with these products so I highly recommend them – whatever your hair type is, you need them in your life! Can’t wait to try more products from Milk Shake!

You may purchase these products directly from Cortex Ltd by clicking here, or you can visit your nearest milkshake salon and buy them directly from there.

What is also great is that Cortex Ltd have a function on their website where you can type in your locality and it tells you which salon stocks Milk Shake products which makes it so much easier!

Have you ever tried Milk Shake products? Which products have you tried?
Let me know in the comments below!

Review: Recent Discoveries from Payot Skin Care*

Review: Recent Discoveries from Payot Skin Care*
Monday, 17 September 2018
Read post

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I just love skin care! As much as I love make up, skin care takes priority; not only because I find that for make up to go on smoothly, you must have a good base but also because I just love having some time for myself to relax and take care of my skin.

One of the brands that I’ve been loving is Payot. As you know, I’ve had the opportunity to try out Payot Skin Care on multiple occasions courtesy of Franks, and since I’ve discovered this brand, I’ve been using their products religiously.  From previous skin care related posts, you might know that my skin type is combination, acne-prone and dehydrated thus making taking care of my skin the more important. My skin is also slightly sensitive so I’m always taking extra precaution when choosing which products to put on my face.

The first product I’ve been loving is the Payot Crème Purifiante. It’s a non-greasy purifying, anti-imperfections face cream that is said to visibly reduce imperfections and unclogs pores. Ingredients wise, this products is full of good stuff for your skin, especially if your skin type is similar to mine. It contains zinc extract to normalise sebum level (how much oil your skin produces) and purify the epidermis and it is also loaded with 7% AHA Ester – for those who do not know what AHA is, it’s an acid which helps exfoliate the skin to help clear blemishes, hydrates the skin and helps with damaged and aging skin. This product is also infused with rosehip oil which helps regenerate skin tissue, boost cell growth and reduce any scarring you may have. Personally, I like using this product in the evening since the acid in it makes your skin more sensitive to the sun. I still apply sunscreen everyday so I don’t find issue with it. As soon as I apply it, I notice that my face looks smoother and clearer and quite matte which is a bonus! I’ve been using this face cream for quite a while now and I can definitely vouch that my skin has improved.

I’ve also been loving another product from Payot, this time it’s a sleeping mask. My Payot Sleeping Pack is an anti-fatigue, radiance reviving overnight mask which makes your skin brighter and plumper. I love putting a thin layer of this mask on nights prior to events or on Sundays, so I can start the week with fresher, brighter and plumper looking skin. It has a gel-like texture and an amazing scent, probably because of the energising super fruits it contains. Apart from the super fruits, this mask also contains hyaluronic acid and silk tree extract; all these products combined help erase visible signs of fatigue and gives a radiance boost to your skin. As skin fanatics know, your skin is most receptive to the benefits of skin care while you sleep so you reap more benefits from such a mask. The ideal for those who want to take care of their skin without bothering having to wait a period of time to wash it off!

Payot products can be found in all Franks Outlets.

Hope you all have a lovely week!

Review & Swatches: 3ina Lip Vinyl*

Review & Swatches: 3ina Lip Vinyl*
Wednesday, 12 September 2018
Read post
When it comes to lip products, matte lipsticks have been getting all the hype these past couple of years, however, the lip gloss seems to be making a comeback as many brands are coming out with different ranges of glossy lip products. And 3ina did not disappoint!

First of all, I’m a bit of a nerd for packaging so I first fell in love with the packaging of the Lip Vinyl. They come with a doe foot applicator which makes for easy application in a slick, minimalistic tube in matte black with the colour of the gloss visible, making them easy to reach for when in a hurry. The 3ina Lip Vinyls come in 8 different shades, all boasting a “smooth, glide-on vinyl shine and rich, bright colour.”  In spite of the fact that the pigment is truly rich, they give more of a natural colour (which I personally prefer) rather than a bold, shiny lip.

Moving on to the product’s texture, it has the consistency of a lip gloss without it feeling heavy on the lips or as sticky as your usual lip gloss thus adhering to its description as having a “non-stick formula” which gives a “feather-light weightlessness that lasts all day.” The four colours I was generously given by 3ina to try out were:
  •        Shade 700 - A clear lip gloss which can be either worn on its own for that ‘my lips but better'  appearance or on top of any lipstick for an instant glossy lip
  •      Shade 701 – A beige-nude lip gloss
  •      Shade 702 – A corally-pink lip gloss, perfect for spring and summer
  •      Shade 705 – A reddish brown lip gloss which is a must have for autumn!

The 3ina Lip Vinyls are also cruelty free, vegan friendly and paraben free.

You can either purchase 3ina online here or by visiting one of their outlets – Pama in Mosta, Energy Complex in Valletta, The Point in Sliema, and next to Kiabi in Qormi.

So, what do you think of lip glosses? Do you prefer them over matte lipsticks?

Review: Ziaja Manuka Tree Purifying Range

Review: Ziaja Manuka Tree Purifying Range
Saturday, 11 August 2018
Read post

I’m finally back! And yes, this time I’m back for good so expect more frequent content! Third year at University was so hectic that I had to take a step back from blogging to focus on my studies. And then work got in the way so I still didn’t have time to organise my thoughts, produce content, shoot and write. But now, finally, I can announce that I’ll be graduating this November (which is super exciting!) and things have calmed down at work so I’m super glad to be back – writing for you who stuck by me during this one hell of a hiatus!

So let’s get to it, shall we?

A while ago, I was generously given a set of skincare products by Beauty Care Malta to try out and review for you lovelies. Since I’ve had them for quite a while (read: months), I tested them out and had time to see results so I’m now fully able to give you my true and honest opinions about them.
Ziaja is not a brand we’re familiar with in Malta, especially since it’s a Polish manufacturer of pharmaceuticals imported by a new company in Malta. After testing them for a while, the products seemed to work quite well for my combination, acne-prone skin. Let’s get on with the review:

Manuka Tree Purifying Normalising Cleansing Gel:
In the beginning, I used to use this cleansing gel everyday however, after a while I noticed that it was drying me out quite a bit. So now, I use this cleansing gel 3 times a week, and on the days I don’t use it I use something gentler. It is soap-free so it makes it less irritating, especially for those of you who suffer with sensitive skin and overall I find that it cleanses my skin and prepares it for the next step quite well.

Manuka Tree Purifying Deeply Cleansing Peeling Paste:
Unfortunately, I have a love/hate relationship with this product due to the fact that I find it too abrasive. Skin types change over time, as did mine, and my skin type although earlier I said that it is combination and acne-prone, it is also quite dehydrated so the abrasive granules in this peeling paste scrub my skin way too hard.

Manuka Tree Purifying Astringent Face Toner:
This face toner is amazing! I love using it after I cleanse and tone my face, as it gives it a cooling and soothing effect. It contains organic acids which gently exfoliate the skin, soothe acne lesions and reduced dilated pores.

Manuka Tree Purifying Normalising Day Cream (SPF 10):
As a normalising day cream, this product moisturises my skin without leaving it shiny as it provides a slight mattifying effect. It is also supposed to reduce blackheads and skin imperfections however, on my skin, it didn’t work out as well as I hoped.  Although it contains SPF 10, I would recommend that you use a stronger SPF on top of it since it only contains a low level of protection.

Manuka Tree Purifying Gently Exfoliating Night Cream with Almond Acid:
This product smells amazing! Not that the others don’t, but this one smells even better. Three times a week, I like to conclude my skin care routine with this product as I find that it helps dry out any spots I have. However, I also found that if I used it every day, it was making my skin way too dry so I tried to limit use to three times a week. I also like the fact that it moisturises and brightens my complexion which I definitely like in a product.

That’s it, lovelies! Hope you enjoyed reading my first blog post since I returned! Let me know if there are any products you’d like me to review or any topics you’d like me to talk about!

Happy Saturday!
