Tuesday 30th October. Villa Arrigo.

Walking up the stairs, we couldn’t be more excited for the launch of Korres Skincare, and their newly launched Wild Rose Collection. We were welcomed with prosecco, embellished with a rose petal - aptly reflecting the collection we were there to learn about.

The event in itself was quite different to others that I’ve been to – it was intimate, highly informative and we had a wonderful time. After chatting with other bloggers and influencers, we were kindly asked to sit down at a long table decorated with wild rose cut outs and the products from the collection right in front of us. After the lovely brand manager, Stephanie, gave us an introduction to the brand, she delved into some key points about each product – which we could test out whilst hearing all about it.

If you’ve never heard of Korres Skincare, let me give you some background to it. Korres is a Greek skin care brand with roots in Athens’ oldest homoeopathic pharmacy. The brand’s aim is to utilise its extensive scientific resources (Lena Korres, the wife of George Korres, is a chemical engineer) for the development of clinical effective and safe products, producing a natural and certified organic range in all areas of beauty and skincare. They feel that they have a commitment to natural products which truly deliver results to their consumers. What I loved the most whilst hearing all about the brand, was the fact that on their products they have what they call ‘Formula Facts’. This contains the percentage of natural content and which ingredients are in and not in the product, so you’ll have a good idea of what it doesn’t contain as well – usually, brands only list what the product contains rather than what it doesn’t – which I found very interesting.

The Wild Rose Collection promotes brightening and active radiance. It contains Wild Rose Oil which is a natural source of Vitamin C, which demonstrates significant repairing activity to fine lines and skin colour disorders while adding brightness and radiance to the skin. Whilst reading this you might say, “this doesn’t apply to me as I don’t have fine lines”, however, this range is for all skin types and all age groups – we say that prevention is better than cure and it couldn’t be truer. Vitamin C helps give you that radiance your skin lacks whilst helping you keep fine lines at bay – so need I say more?

To close off the lovely evening, we had a beauty station offering hairstyles incorporating roses and hand massages using Korres hand creams. Plus, a flatlay station which was amazing! It was all set up with lights and an array of props (which I definitely need for my personal collection!) and we had a flatlay challenge amongst the invitees using the products from the collection and any props we liked – and I unexpectedly won!

I can’t wait to test out some products from the range and tell you more about them once I get a good feel of the products – I have a feeling that I’ll be quite impressed as they look (and smell!) fantastic! Baby smooth skin, here I come!

My Thoughts on Milk Shake's Integrity Range

My Thoughts on Milk Shake's Integrity Range

Today I’ll be talking to you about some new hair products I’ve been loving as of recently. If you follow the blog’s Facebook Page (which you should, by the way), you know that I’ve been raving about Milk Shake’s Silver Shine Shampoo – I’ve been blonde since I was 13 and I’ve never found a product that saves my hair from turning brassy, that is, until I found Milk Shake’s Silver Shine Shampoo – it saved my hair. After seeing such results, I’ve wanted to try more products from the brand, and after testing out these products for a few weeks, I wanted to share my thoughts with you all.

I am sure most of you know the brand and have probably tried it, however, there are various ranges to choose from with Milk Shake. Today’s post is all about Milk Shake’s Integrity Nourishing Range.

Step 1: Integrity Nourishing Shampoo

The formula of this range contains organic Muru Muru butter, which is known to have a creamy texture and distinctive smell and to be rich in fatty acids, oleic acid, Vitamin A, inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. The shampoo itself is sodium chloride, sulphate and paraben free and works quite nicely as it lathers up to my liking and it does not dry out my hair (I feel that other shampoos I’ve tried in the past from various brands tend to dry out my hair). I believe this shampoo is perfect for those who want a shampoo which is not harsh, and suits every hair type. It also smells amazing which is always a plus ;)

Step 2: Integrity Intensive Treatment

Up next, we have my favourite product from the trio. The Integrity Intensive Treatment makes your hair feel so lush and smooth – it helped my hair detangle more easily, frizz less, the ends feel so nourished and soft and upon blow drying it I felt that I was one of the models in a hair commercial. If you want super soft and luscious hair, then this product is for you! Especially if you have coloured, damaged hair like mine. I use this right after I rinse off the shampoo and I leave it between 5-10mins so it can penetrate through the hair and I can reap all the benefits of the active ingredients such as the muru muru butter. I comb through the hair and rinse it off.

Step 3: Integrity Nourishing Conditioner

The final step when it comes to this trio is the Integrity Nourishing Conditioner. After rinsing off the treatment, I massage the conditioner in and leave it on for around 3-5mins before I comb and rinse. A conditioner is supposed to lock the vitamin and protein obtained from the treatment in your hair. After you feel your hair deeply conditioned and soft like never before.

Personally, these products seem to work beautifully on my hair. My hair hadn’t felt this soft in so long! I feel that this trio made my hair feel deeply nourished – I’ve noticed that since I’ve started using these, my hair is less frizzy, it is more manageable (especially when it comes to brushing), it feels super soft and looks more shiny. I’m super impressed with these products so I highly recommend them – whatever your hair type is, you need them in your life! Can’t wait to try more products from Milk Shake!

You may purchase these products directly from Cortex Ltd by clicking here, or you can visit your nearest milkshake salon and buy them directly from there.

What is also great is that Cortex Ltd have a function on their website where you can type in your locality and it tells you which salon stocks Milk Shake products which makes it so much easier!

Have you ever tried Milk Shake products? Which products have you tried?
Let me know in the comments below!

Review: Recent Discoveries from Payot Skin Care*

Review: Recent Discoveries from Payot Skin Care*

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I just love skin care! As much as I love make up, skin care takes priority; not only because I find that for make up to go on smoothly, you must have a good base but also because I just love having some time for myself to relax and take care of my skin.

One of the brands that I’ve been loving is Payot. As you know, I’ve had the opportunity to try out Payot Skin Care on multiple occasions courtesy of Franks, and since I’ve discovered this brand, I’ve been using their products religiously.  From previous skin care related posts, you might know that my skin type is combination, acne-prone and dehydrated thus making taking care of my skin the more important. My skin is also slightly sensitive so I’m always taking extra precaution when choosing which products to put on my face.

The first product I’ve been loving is the Payot Crème Purifiante. It’s a non-greasy purifying, anti-imperfections face cream that is said to visibly reduce imperfections and unclogs pores. Ingredients wise, this products is full of good stuff for your skin, especially if your skin type is similar to mine. It contains zinc extract to normalise sebum level (how much oil your skin produces) and purify the epidermis and it is also loaded with 7% AHA Ester – for those who do not know what AHA is, it’s an acid which helps exfoliate the skin to help clear blemishes, hydrates the skin and helps with damaged and aging skin. This product is also infused with rosehip oil which helps regenerate skin tissue, boost cell growth and reduce any scarring you may have. Personally, I like using this product in the evening since the acid in it makes your skin more sensitive to the sun. I still apply sunscreen everyday so I don’t find issue with it. As soon as I apply it, I notice that my face looks smoother and clearer and quite matte which is a bonus! I’ve been using this face cream for quite a while now and I can definitely vouch that my skin has improved.

I’ve also been loving another product from Payot, this time it’s a sleeping mask. My Payot Sleeping Pack is an anti-fatigue, radiance reviving overnight mask which makes your skin brighter and plumper. I love putting a thin layer of this mask on nights prior to events or on Sundays, so I can start the week with fresher, brighter and plumper looking skin. It has a gel-like texture and an amazing scent, probably because of the energising super fruits it contains. Apart from the super fruits, this mask also contains hyaluronic acid and silk tree extract; all these products combined help erase visible signs of fatigue and gives a radiance boost to your skin. As skin fanatics know, your skin is most receptive to the benefits of skin care while you sleep so you reap more benefits from such a mask. The ideal for those who want to take care of their skin without bothering having to wait a period of time to wash it off!

Payot products can be found in all Franks Outlets.

Hope you all have a lovely week!

Review & Swatches: 3ina Lip Vinyl*

Review & Swatches: 3ina Lip Vinyl*

Read post
When it comes to lip products, matte lipsticks have been getting all the hype these past couple of years, however, the lip gloss seems to be making a comeback as many brands are coming out with different ranges of glossy lip products. And 3ina did not disappoint!

First of all, I’m a bit of a nerd for packaging so I first fell in love with the packaging of the Lip Vinyl. They come with a doe foot applicator which makes for easy application in a slick, minimalistic tube in matte black with the colour of the gloss visible, making them easy to reach for when in a hurry. The 3ina Lip Vinyls come in 8 different shades, all boasting a “smooth, glide-on vinyl shine and rich, bright colour.”  In spite of the fact that the pigment is truly rich, they give more of a natural colour (which I personally prefer) rather than a bold, shiny lip.

Moving on to the product’s texture, it has the consistency of a lip gloss without it feeling heavy on the lips or as sticky as your usual lip gloss thus adhering to its description as having a “non-stick formula” which gives a “feather-light weightlessness that lasts all day.” The four colours I was generously given by 3ina to try out were:
  •        Shade 700 - A clear lip gloss which can be either worn on its own for that ‘my lips but better'  appearance or on top of any lipstick for an instant glossy lip
  •      Shade 701 – A beige-nude lip gloss
  •      Shade 702 – A corally-pink lip gloss, perfect for spring and summer
  •      Shade 705 – A reddish brown lip gloss which is a must have for autumn!

The 3ina Lip Vinyls are also cruelty free, vegan friendly and paraben free.

You can either purchase 3ina online here or by visiting one of their outlets – Pama in Mosta, Energy Complex in Valletta, The Point in Sliema, and next to Kiabi in Qormi.

So, what do you think of lip glosses? Do you prefer them over matte lipsticks?

Review: Ziaja Manuka Tree Purifying Range

Review: Ziaja Manuka Tree Purifying Range

Read post

I’m finally back! And yes, this time I’m back for good so expect more frequent content! Third year at University was so hectic that I had to take a step back from blogging to focus on my studies. And then work got in the way so I still didn’t have time to organise my thoughts, produce content, shoot and write. But now, finally, I can announce that I’ll be graduating this November (which is super exciting!) and things have calmed down at work so I’m super glad to be back – writing for you who stuck by me during this one hell of a hiatus!

So let’s get to it, shall we?

A while ago, I was generously given a set of skincare products by Beauty Care Malta to try out and review for you lovelies. Since I’ve had them for quite a while (read: months), I tested them out and had time to see results so I’m now fully able to give you my true and honest opinions about them.
Ziaja is not a brand we’re familiar with in Malta, especially since it’s a Polish manufacturer of pharmaceuticals imported by a new company in Malta. After testing them for a while, the products seemed to work quite well for my combination, acne-prone skin. Let’s get on with the review:

Manuka Tree Purifying Normalising Cleansing Gel:
In the beginning, I used to use this cleansing gel everyday however, after a while I noticed that it was drying me out quite a bit. So now, I use this cleansing gel 3 times a week, and on the days I don’t use it I use something gentler. It is soap-free so it makes it less irritating, especially for those of you who suffer with sensitive skin and overall I find that it cleanses my skin and prepares it for the next step quite well.

Manuka Tree Purifying Deeply Cleansing Peeling Paste:
Unfortunately, I have a love/hate relationship with this product due to the fact that I find it too abrasive. Skin types change over time, as did mine, and my skin type although earlier I said that it is combination and acne-prone, it is also quite dehydrated so the abrasive granules in this peeling paste scrub my skin way too hard.

Manuka Tree Purifying Astringent Face Toner:
This face toner is amazing! I love using it after I cleanse and tone my face, as it gives it a cooling and soothing effect. It contains organic acids which gently exfoliate the skin, soothe acne lesions and reduced dilated pores.

Manuka Tree Purifying Normalising Day Cream (SPF 10):
As a normalising day cream, this product moisturises my skin without leaving it shiny as it provides a slight mattifying effect. It is also supposed to reduce blackheads and skin imperfections however, on my skin, it didn’t work out as well as I hoped.  Although it contains SPF 10, I would recommend that you use a stronger SPF on top of it since it only contains a low level of protection.

Manuka Tree Purifying Gently Exfoliating Night Cream with Almond Acid:
This product smells amazing! Not that the others don’t, but this one smells even better. Three times a week, I like to conclude my skin care routine with this product as I find that it helps dry out any spots I have. However, I also found that if I used it every day, it was making my skin way too dry so I tried to limit use to three times a week. I also like the fact that it moisturises and brightens my complexion which I definitely like in a product.

That’s it, lovelies! Hope you enjoyed reading my first blog post since I returned! Let me know if there are any products you’d like me to review or any topics you’d like me to talk about!

Happy Saturday!
Love, Thereseanne
